It is my passion. It is my work. I design one job at a time and give each client my undivided attention.

I attended Texas State Technical College and acquired an Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD.) I spent 3 years working for a local Architect and the next 13 years as a partner in my family’s construction business, Root Homes/Root Construction, before venturing out and creating my own design company.

Root Homes is the residential side of our company where I worked one on one with my clients to design their homes ranging in cost from $70K - $2M. I have designed several of the homes on Root Homes’ website. Root Construction is the commercial side of our company where I worked on various projects from small interior build-outs to full scale strip center layout including site, building, and parking lot layout, floor plans, and elevations.

At Christy Root Designs, I offer home plans that meet every budget, big or small, with floor plans that are highly functional. I pay attention to every detail that goes into my home designs from the exterior detailing that makes each house unique, to the interior layout that makes your custom design fit the flow of your family. My builder-ready plans are available as CAD drawings or “plot” files that can be printed at your local printer. I understand the home design process and know that designing a set of house plans can be overwhelming. That's why as a designer, I will go the extra mile to design a house plan that meets your individual needs.
