What a great experience working with this professional! Christy designed plans for a remodel of our downstairs to convert our existing garage into a Master Bedroom and Bath, to relocate our downstairs utility and powder room, to add a carport with covered walkway, and to add a detached garage/man cave. She says what she'll do and within what time frame and exceeds all expectations with her creativity and expertise.

It was a pleasure working with Christy! This was the first home we have built. I had a hand drawn design idea of what we wanted. Christy took that and turned in into exactly what we wanted. She responds quickly and was always very patient with my numerous questions and ideas. We worked closely together to get the details right. Christy is very knowledgeable and offers helpful suggestions and ideas. She makes designing your dream home is as important to her as it is to you, and you can tell. Spending time outdoors in COMFORT is very important to us and Christy worked with us to design a back porch area, within our budget, to provide protection from pesky East Texas bugs, keep us cooler in the hot summer months and provide warmth in the cold winters. It will also look phenomenal. The home is not complete yet (will posted pictures later), but my husband and I are anxiously looking forward to moving in and enjoying our new home - Thank You Christy.

Christy Root Stregles helped us create the plans for our dream home. She spent a large amount of time asking us questions and looking at our ideas. I told her I did not want cookie cutter and she listened and designed a house that we can't wait to move into. She gave us lots of tips to help along the way. She was even up to date on costs and was able to tell us approximate costs of extra porches etc. She even suggested flooring and interior ideas. I really appreciate all the time she put into creating our plans and how quickly she would get back to us each time we made a change. It was wonderful working with her and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to create plans for a house or remodel.

Christy with Christy Root Designs has been a true asset to our new construction residential project. As a family with a very busy lifestyle our project has often been put on standby for weeks at a time, but she has remained very patient and diligent, working with us via email and personal meetings. From the start Christy had genuine interest in our project, very attentive to our style ideas, specific design details, and the needs we had for form and function to fit our family of 5. Her creativity and expertise, combined with her background in construction, made every step in drafting process an excellent experience. We would receive emails and pictures of ideas she had or saw while traveling that she thought we would like or help give a different prospective or a clarification; above and beyond! We were very impressed that she went to great lengths to make sure we were happy with all aspects our project demanded, revising and working for 9 months til project was complete. We are now in the construction phase, with a year completion estimation, and she continues to be available and extremely helpful when a question arises. We have since recommended her to others and will continue to do so.

We first met with Christy in 2009 to begin the plans on our dream house. Christy was a great help in making suggestions of how to make our house exactly what we were wanting. Over the next five years, we made some modifications to tweek the house just the way we wanted it. With each revision, Christy was accommodating and made changes quickly and would always e-mail our plans and their new specifications. We are finally ready to start building the house now in 2014 and the builder of our house was very impressed with Christy's plans and detail in the specifications, especially the complexity of our foundation and how well it was prepared. I highly recommend Christy - she is a great designer and wonderful person. She has stayed in contact with me and we are both excited to finally see the house built!!

Christy did the drawings for my duplexes. She was very helpful with design ideas that would save money without taking away from the look and quality that I wanted. She was timely, the cost was very reasonable (especially considering the extra work and expertise that she provided), and was always available when I wanted do discuss the plans. I would highly recommend her for any building project that you may have, and I would suspect she will over deliver as she did for me.

Christy was very instrumental in helping us turn our one bedroom cabin (approx. 850 sq. ft.) into a very unique three bedroom/three bath lakehouse (approx. 3600 sq. ft. under roof). Our first mtg. was at the cabin so she could see the layout of the property. It was important to us to keep the view to the lake and to keep as many trees as possible. Christy studied my husband's sketch, listened to our ideas and I could see her creative talent coming alive. With her design knowledge and construction background, she was able to show us several options, make changes and finalize our plans. Christy was very accommodating, meeting us on the week-end and working mainly thru emails since we live 180 miles from the lake. We're in the middle of constuction with a great custom builder and anxious to see the finished product. Thank you Christy!

Christy Stregles of ChristyRootDesigns turned our loosely assembled house plan ideas into reality. My husband and I simply provided our list of must-haves, hope-to-haves, and a hand drawn sketch of a house plan and she ran with it! Through constant communication via e-mail, Christy spent a significant amount of time "listening" to us, getting to know how we hoped to live and function in our new home. She was never satisfied until we were "in love" with each room or section of the design. My husband and I hired Christy Root Designs to help us re-do our floor plan in quite an extensive renovation project. She was very professional in her approach to the project and I appreciated her knowledge and creativity. She was also available when I needed to ask a million questions. When we decided that our 1994 colonial style home needed an exterior facelift, my husband and myself were introduced to Christy Root Stregles. We made an appointment for her to visit with us about what we wanted and hoped to accomplish by doing our remodel. During the first meeting, we instantly connected. When I began listing and describing some of the exterior features that appealed to us, she gave it a name, It was the craftsman style bungalow that my husband and I both loved, and as it turned out, her own home was also a craftsman style. . As we talked, she truly listened to ensure she included all we wanted in our plan. In addition to just changing our overall look to craftsman, we also wanted to add a courtyard area, extend our front porch, and add a pergola so that we could have outdoor sitting area. . We made plans to change out windows, the garage door, and our front door as well. In addition, we requested that stacked rock be incorporated into the design and new exterior lighting that completed the craftsman look. Christy studied our current plans carefully and created an amazing design. From the minute we saw it, we were in love! She has continued to work on the design to tweak it in order for it to fit within our budget, We communicated often during this process. She sent me links on window options, lighting, paint colors, rock samples, and concrete options for our new courtyard area as well. She also invited me over to see her home and explained the elements that went into creating the style we wanted. Christy was always available and approachable. We feel so fortunate to have found her!
